Morris Hayes papers, 1966-1984.

Files documenting the career of Morris D. Hayes, University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire Director of Choral Organizations from 1966-1988. Files dealing with Hayes' male chorus (The Singing Statesmen), his participation in the American Choral Directors Association (of which he was national president from 1972-74), Intercollegiate Music Council Minutes from the 1980s, and documentation of his many trips abroad either through UWEC or the International Youth Committee's "People-to-People International" program comprise large sections of this collection. There is also a box of photographs many of which are documenting the Statesmen. Some material covers Hayes' days at Kansas State University in the early 1960s. For a summary of the career of Hayes see the folder entitled "Professional background" in box 2 of this collection. Also includes videotapes of "Morris D. Hayes Banquet" and "A Choral Salute to Morris D. Hayes". Boxed with other other videotapes in Series 474.
